Mount Brandsfjäll

Mount Brandfjäll’s towering massif reaches to an altitude of 1100 metres. The mountain’s southern slope contains large veins of limestone, which favours a species-rich vegetation, including pyramidal saxifrage and mountain avens.

Kåtaviken
The mountains around Överuman contain many caves. These caves were first discovered and explored at the end of the 1960s. At Kåtaviken, 45 km from Hemavan, there is an area with many caves that are well worth visiting. A 4 km trail connects some of the most interesting ones. A walk along the Cave Trail (‘Grottstigen’) will teach you about the different types of caves, karsts and limestone formations that are typical for the Överuman area. The trail is easy and requires no special equipment. Cave visits, however, demand good torches, suitable clothing and protective helmets.
