Naturum visitors’ centres are exhibition centres where you can learn about the area’s natural and cultural history. Naturum visitors’ centres are located throughout Sweden. There are two Naturum visitors’ centres in Vindelfjällen; in Hemavan and in Ammarnäs.

Naturum Vindelfjällen in Hemavan

Naturum Vindelfjällen in Hemavan is situated at the western edge of the nature reserve, at the entrance to the Kungsleden Trail. At the Naturum Centre you can find out about the area’s fascinating natural and cultural history, from where you can pick chanterelles to the calcareous flora of Mount Artfjäll.

Opening hours 9 am-6 pm. Wednesdays until 9 pm

During summer (week 26-34), you can take part in a

Daily guided tours in the garden see tabloid.

Tours on the flowermountain Gierravardo 1/7-9/8. Mondays and fridays at 12 am. We meet at the parking lot approx 1-2 km from portbron towards Tärnaby. You can take the local bus that leaves from ICA at 11.50 am. Bring something to eat, clothes for rain and good shoes.

Tours to the endemic Brudkulla (Gymnadenia runei). 10/7, 17/7 and 24/7. Meeting at naturum 12 am. The tour is about 5 km long and a bit step the last km. Bring something to eat, clothes for rain and good shoes.

Childrens guided tour where we talk about  animals and plants living in the harsh mountains. Fridays at 2 pm.

Wednesdays open until 9pm.

For travellers from Hemavan.

In the bending of the road towards Naturum take the road towards the skiingtrack (marked with a small blue sign)  Then take the road crossing to the left and walk towards the old shooting field (marked with a black arrow on the map).  At the corner of the field you will find the downstream lying bridge. Then walk true the birch forest upstreams the river for approx 1km.
